Bradley, Jerome J., 99, Cresson, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Born November 5, 1923, South Fork, son of the late Ira and Marie (Dunmyer) Bradley. Jerome was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Clara (Bismark) Bradley on October 12, 2021; infant son, Daniel; sisters, Agnes (Regis) Daugherty, Helen (Joseph) Williams; brothers, Joseph (Alice); Ira (Virginia); William (Stella); and Michael (Iva) Bradley. He married Clara on November 25, 1948 and they raised their four children who survive, Kathleen Mortensen and husband Paul; Sharon Martynuska; Mark Bradley and wife Diane; and Patrick Bradley. He was also blessed with 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Jerome attended St. Francis University, Loretto and the University of North Carolina. Jerome served in the US Navy during WWII as a Naval Aviator Lieutenant. Upon leaving active duty from the US Navy, he worked locally at Bradley & Sons family business building homes in Cresson and surrounding areas with his brothers. He then worked for the US Post Office in Cresson for many years as a mail carrier. After his retirement, he and his wife held co-residency in St. Petersburg, FL and Cresson. He was member of the Cresson American Legion Post 238. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, 10 a.m., St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson, Rev. Leo Arnone celebrant. Military honors will be provided by the Cresson American Legion, Sankertown VFW and other local military organizations.
