James F. Lynch, 70, Murrysville, formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Born September 12, 1953, Altoona, son of the late Thomas W. and Madeline C. (Lumadue) Lynch. Preceded in death by his sister, Frances Davinsizer. Survived by his loving wife, Rosemary L. (Softy) Lynch; daughters, Angelique Lynch of Pittsburgh, and Alisha Seelye of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Gavin Lynch, Addison and Bailey Zearfaus, Madelyn and Chandler Seelye, Cassandra, Macklan and Josephine Downes; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Roszay, Jamie and Alijah Lynch; sister, Mary Lou “Mamie” Boyer of Philipsburg; brothers, Kenneth Lynch of Altoona, Warren “Sonny” Lynch of Cresson, and Terrance “Terry” Lynch of Ashville; brother-in-law, Raymond Softy of Cresson; and numerous nieces and nephews. James retired from FCI Loretto as the kitchen supervisor. He also worked as a government contractor for Homeland Security and for Blair Senior Services as a van driver. James enjoyed cooking and loved to feed people, playing racquetball, golfing, watching tv and relaxing on his back deck, and firearms. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends. At James’ request there will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 2 p.m., Mountain Top Sportsman, 305 Maple St., Coupon, PA 16613.
