Kyle, James Henry III, 75, Mount Union, passed away Monday July 31, 2023, at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. Born September 19, 1947, Huntingdon, son of the late James Henry Kyle II and Myra Pearl (Aurand) Kyle. Survived by his siblings, Dolly Ranck and husband David, McVeytown; Jeffrey Kyle and wife Valerie, Hagerstown MD; and Bonnie Morningstar, Huntingdon; good friends, Toni Lane and Janet Robinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Edward Kyle, Florida; Duane Ardrey, Georgia; Samuel Ardrey, New Jersey; Ross Ardrey, Chambersburg; James Ardrey, Huntingdon; and Dora Werner, Mount Union. James was a graduate of Huntingdon High School. Following school, he honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he received numerous medals including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter Badge M-14 Rifle, Sharpshooter Badge .45 Caliber Pistol, Expert Badge 4.2 Mortar and a Purple Heart. He worked various contracting jobs as well as a laborer in a lumber mill. James enjoyed woodworking and loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Mount Union American Legion Post 107 and the Mount Union VFW 5754. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 9, 2023, for a memorial service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Inurnment to be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
