Diven, James L., 78, Newton Hamilton, passed away September 28, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Born April 28, 1942, Newton Hamilton, son of the late Blair and Margaret (Rittenhouse) Diven. Preceded in death by brothers, Bob and Terry Diven; and sister, Peggy Diven. Survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Diane (Brunner); daughter, Tammy (Sam) Diven; son, Brian (Caitlyn) Diven; 7 grandchildren, Jason, Craig, and Autumn Hocker; Kirsten Clemens; Caleb (Payton), Zara and Mason Diven; and siblings, Donald Diven; Clair (Sharon) Diven; Kenny (Judy) Diven; and Debra (Galen) Price. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, yardwork, and tinkering with his lawnmower and tractor. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most importantly, he loved spending time with family, friends and his beloved Doberman, Zoey. Friends and family will be received Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, October 2, 2020 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Clair Diven and Pastor Bill Benson, co-officiants. Committal Newton Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of James.
