Helen V. Singel

Helen V. (Patrick) Singel, 89, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away January 8, 2023 at the Celebration Villa of Altoona, where she’s been a resident since 2019. Born May 5, 1933, Spangler, daughter of Frank and Mary (Kobal) Patrick. Preceded in death by her parents and son, Mark Singel. Survived by her son, Eric Singel of Philadelphia; sisters, Lois Smith of Hummelstown; and Sandra Kirsch of Kansas City, KS; brother, John Patrick of Northern Cambria; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen received her registered nursing degree from Miners Hospital, Spangler and her bachelor of science in nursing from St. Joseph’s College, Maine. She worked for the former Mercy Hospital in Altoona, where she worked as a nurse and then later as a nurse administrator. Helen was an active member of the Ladies Guild of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. She was also an avid golfer with the Ladies League at the Blairmont Country Club. At Helen’s request, there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson.
