Grainey, Glen William “Shadow”, 87, Mapleton Depot, passed away Sunday January 28, 2024, at Penn Highlands Huntingdon. Born April 13, 1936, Huntingdon, son of the late Newton C. and Martha (Ward) Grainey. Survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia A. (Knarr) Grainey, whom he married on July 22, 1978, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Mapleton Depot by Pastor Wayne Richards. Also surviving are his children, Thad W. Grainey and wife Barb, Huntingdon; Troy L. Grainey, Huntingdon; and Kimberly A. Hicks and husband Coy, Newton Hamilton; 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by siblings, Kathleen Booher; George “Boy” Grainey, and Donald “Newtie” Grainey; and a stepson, Michael P. Getz. Mr Grainey was a member of the Cromwell Bible Church in Three Springs. He was a 1955 graduate of Captain Jack High School, Mount Union. After school he honorable served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1963 serving overseas in Pakistan. He was discharged with the rank of Air Man 2nd Class. Mr. Grainey retired from Mead Westvaco Acco Brands in 1999 after 33 years of service as an envelope adjuster. Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Thursday February 1, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Titus Palmer, officiant. Inurnment with military honors to follow at Mapleton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
