George D. (Don) Zimmerman of Spruce Creek departed this life on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Embassy of Huntingdon Park. Born September 24, 1943, in Spruce Creek, he was the son of the late Robert and Edna (Hamer) Zimmerman. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie (Burfield) Zimmerman, and his son, Scott Zimmerman. Don is survived by his late-in-life companion, Connie Iddings, of Spruce Creek, his son, Donald (Sarah) Braxton of Huntingdon, and his daughter, Lisa (Dante) Minter, of Davenport. FL. Don was a proud graduate of the Juniata Valley High School class of 1963. After graduation, George enlisted in the United States Army. After discharge, Don was mostly employed as a truck driver, lastly at Lowe’s, from which he later retired. In Don’s free time, he was often hunting, going bowling, or throwing horseshoes. Don was a proud fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State. He enjoyed watching the Juniata Valley Football team play under the Friday night lights. He often told stories about his own glory days playing ball for JV. Don attended the Spruce Creek United Methodist Church, 4938 Spruce Creek Rd, Spruce Creek, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Huntingdon County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
