George A. Reihart, 86, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at Embassy of Huntingdon Park. Born November 8, 1939, son of the late George and Alice (Larson) Reihart. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by brother, Martin “Buck;” sister, Ruth. Mr. Reihart is survived by his son, Chris (Lisa); daughter, Jessica; stepson Shawn (Toni); grandson, Levi (Andrea); granddaughter, Justiss; great-grandson, Theo and sister Nancy. George proudly served in the United States Army and later worked in construction as a drywall finisher. A talented musician and entertainer, he played bass and rhythm guitar, sang lead vocals, and was a member of three bands throughout his life – The Fugitives, Free Flight and Foxfire. He also released an album titled Walking into Fresno, leaving behind a lasting piece of his musical legacy. He was a lifetime member and served as a manager for more than 30 years at the William P. Spyker American Legion Post 520 in Alexandria, where he made many lasting friendships and memories. Known for his quick wit, humor, and entertaining personality, he was a true jokester with a mischievous sense of humor and a knack for keeping everyone laughing. To many who knew and loved him, he was simply a legend. At the convenience of the family, a Celebration of Life, including military honors, will be held at a later date.
