George Edward Lutman Sr., 85, Commodore, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born November 16, 1940, Commodore, son of the late Carl W. Lutman and Sarah Emma (Sensabaugh) Henry. Survived by his loving wife, Leona P. (Buterbaugh) Lutman, whom he married on September 22, 1962 and shared 63 years together; sons, James Ellsworth and wife, Sharon of Starford; George Lutman Jr. and wife, Penny of Commodore; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Chichy, Megan (Jimmy) Stapleton, all of Commodore, and Marcus (Kelly) Lutman of Grisemore; great-grandsons, Cole, Jesse, and Easton; ; great-granddaughter, Maci Rose; step-grandchildren, Kadin, Taylor and Ada; sister, Linda Lutman; half-bother, John Lutman; step-brothers, Roger Somerville and Ed (Edna) Lutman; former grandson-in-law, David Sprague; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his step-father, Ellsworth Henry; and step-mother, Edythe Lutman. George lived his entire life in the Commodore area. He retired with over 38 years of service at PennDot as a mechanic. George was a member of the Purchase Line Community Fellowship Church and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Holiday Camplands at Pymatuning. Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family extends their gratitude to 365 Hospice for the care they showed George. Friends and family will be received Friday, December 19, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Purchase Line Community Fellowship Church, 5227 Purchase Line Road, Commodore, PA 15729, where a funeral service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11 a.m., Pastor Dale Leverknight officiant. Burial East Mahoning Baptist Church Cemetery, Commodore.
