Jacobs, George J. Jr., 88, Cresson, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at UPMC Altoona. Born March 26, 1937, Lilly, son of the late George J. and Sophie M. (Sabol) Jacobs Sr. George is also preceded in death by his son, George Jacobs III. Survived by his loving wife, Olive M. (Illig) Jacobs. Also survived by children, Tracy (Tim) Fishel, Cicero, NY, Margie (Joseph) Coho, Duncansville, and Paul Jacobs, Lilly; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Jacobs, Gallitzin; grandchildren, Kayla, Kristin, Steven, Samantha, Joshua (Jordan), Olivia, Melissa, and Amy; great-grandchildren, Nick, Kamden, Kayden, Mia, Lauren, and Josh Jr. George was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was a long-time member of the Cresson American Legion. In his spare time, he had a passion for woodworking. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going for long car rides with his wife and beloved “granddog”, Casper. He especially loved going on car rides when he was able to stop at Burger Hut for ice cream. George was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, cheering the team on for every game. Most of all, George cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 3, 2025, at 12 p.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, Rev. Leo Arnone celebrant. Committal at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Cresson. Military Honors will be provided by the Cresson American Legion, Sankertown VFW and other local military organizations.
