Gene A. Vaughn, 85, of Shirleysburg, passed away on July 3, 2026, at UPMC Harrisburg. Born February 6, 1941, son of the late Herbert and Ethel (Price) Vaughn, Sr. In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by grandson, Camden Vaughn and granddaughter, Jordan Myers. Gene is survived by his loving wife, Christine ( Schell) Vaughn; sons, Zachary (Lindsey) Vaughn, Tyler (Crystal) Vaughn; stepsons, Matthew (Amber) Vaughn, Jason Vaughn, Scott (Lauren) Vaughn; grandsons, Rilyne Vaughn, Haven Vaughn, Carter Vaughn, Kohan Leidy, Cohan Vaughn, Braxton Vaughn; granddaughters, Hayleigh Nolan, Bray Autumn Vaughn, Gracyn Vaughn, Laiklynn Vaughn, Oakleigh Vaughn, and Jackie Myers. After proudly serving his country for 30 years in the United States Air Force and United States Army, including honorable service during the Vietnam War, Gene continued a lifetime of helping others as a paramedic. He also dedicated part of his career to working in the fiberglass industry. Throughout his life, Mr. Vaughn called many places home, embracing new experiences and creating lasting friendships wherever he went. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed admiring and talking about the timeless beauty of old automobiles. Above all, he was a family man. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his children and especially his beloved grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. Gene lived a full and meaningful life marked by service, adventure, compassion, and unwavering love for his family. Friends and family will be received Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 – 12:00 in the Heath-Anderson Funeral Home with a time of service at 12:00, Pastor Ken Patterson, officiant. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our country. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
