Fr. Paul M. Robine

Robine, Father Paul M., 89, a resident of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord April 4, 2023 at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. Born February 15, 1934, Altoona, son of the late Martin D. and Mary M. (Weidmann) Robine. Preceded in death by his sister, Bernadette Robine; and step-mother, Lucile B. (Locke) Robine. Fr. Robine was the last survivor of his immediate family. He attended grade school at St. Leo Parish and graduated from Altoona Catholic High in 1951. He then attended St. Vincent Minor Seminary, Latrobe from 1951-1953. He completed his seminary education from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia. He was ordained to Priesthood May 23, 1959 at Immaculate Conception Chapel, Loretto by Bishop Howard Carroll. He was assigned as Associate Pastor at Saint Benedict Parish in Johnstown from 1959-1961 and Saint Joseph Parish in Portage from 1961-1965, and he was a Chaplain at Mercy Hospital in Altoona from 1965-1971. He was Pastor at Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Everett from 1971-1976, Saint Aloysius Parish in Cresson from 1976-1988, and Saint John Vianney Parish in Mundy’s Corner from 1988 until he retired in 2009. During his early years as a priest, he was an instructor at Bishop Carroll, Bishop Guilfoyle, and Bishop McCort Catholic High Schools, and he taught at the Altoona School of Nursing. A Reception of Body will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 2 p.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, Very Rev. Thomas Stabile, T.O.R., followed by visitation until 7 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held that evening at 7 p.m., Fr. Matthew Reese. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11 a.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, The Most Rev. Mark L. Bartchak, JCD, Bishop of Altoona-Johnstown, Celebrant, with Fr. Matthew Reese, Very Rev. Angelo Patti, and Fr. Leonard Voytek, concelebrants, and other visiting clergy. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either St. John Vianney Catholic Church or St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson. Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
