Elsie P. Wright

Elsie P. Wright, 87, of Mount Union, passed away December 9, 2020 at AristaCare in Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon.  Born January 30, 1933 in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Maskulyak) Petron.  Preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward A. Wright.  Also preceded in death by her son, Edward A. “Eddie” Wright Jr. and siblings, Gregory Evanetz, John Evanetz, Anthony Petron, Andrew Petron, Helen Jenkins, Gloria Maslanik, Pauline Shelton, and Edward Petron.  Survived by daughter, Kathy DeForrest of Huntingdon; Grandchildren, Patrick Yocum and wife, Renee of Huntingdon; Ed Wright and Danielle Huffnagle, both of Mount Union; Great-grandchildren, Nikolas, Tyler and Ryan “Yogi” Yocum, Kaylee and Kyle Wright, Mason and Julian Huffnagle; and sisters, Victoria Prough of Mount Union and Anna Harker of Mill Creek.  Elsie was known for her patriotism, having dedicated her time as a pen pal to various veterans, many of whom she had not even met.  She was a dedicated viewer of classic films with famous movie stars.  She was a waitress for many years, starting at The Motel 22.  She shared her passion for cooking at home and with the Shirley Home for the Aged where she retired.  Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with loved ones and cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
