Luther, Edward J., 80, Cresson, died Dec. 30, 2017, at Maybrook Hills, Altoona. Born Sept. 28, 1937, in Cresson, son of the late Edward V. and Margaret (Sweeney) Luther. Preceded in death by son, John. Survived by children: Karen Hodgson (Ralph); and Michael (Brenda), both of Cresson; grandchildren: Michael, Steven and Stephanie Luther; and Robert and Jennifer Hodgson; and three grandchildren. Retired in 1997 from ConRail as a signal maintainer. Member of St. Aloysius Parish, Cresson and an auxiliary member of its Legion of Mary. At request of deceased, there will be a private family viewing. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Church, Rev. Matthew Reese. Committal, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
