Harker, Edna R. (Miller), 94, Mount Union, passed away Friday March 10, 2023, at home. Born March 5, 1929, Centre County, daughter of the late Rev. Charles F. and Claudia (Stapleton) Miller. Preceded in death by husbands, Bruce Walter; Jack Lender; and Larry Harker; infant daughter, Peggy; infant brother, Charles Jr.; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and brother, Edwin Miller. Survived by children, Ruth Ann Livingston and husband, Bill; Darryl Walter and wife, Liz; Susan Todaro and husband, Frank; Charles Lender and wife, Barbara; and Greg Lender and fiancé, Marie; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Harker attended schools in Centre and Snyder Counties and was a member of the class of 1946 Middleburg High School. She worked at JC Blair Hospital as a nurse’s aide then she worked as a private duty care giver until her retirement in 1991. Edna enjoyed her family, reading, needlework, Atlanta Braves baseball, and her dogs. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and attended the Allenport United Methodist Church for many years and taught Sunday School. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday March 15, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday March 16, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Timothy Miller, officiant. Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
