Walters, Edith Catherine, 78, Oxford, formerly of Cresson, passed away December 10, 2017 at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford. Born January 3, 1939, Cresson, daughter of the late Steve and Grace (Dale) Walters. Preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jack Strohmier. Survived by brother, James and wife, Sally, Santa Cruz, CA; sisters, Lillian Strohmier, Oxford; Mary Margaret Walters; and Faith Godfrey and husband, Gene, both of Cresson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a goddaughter, Nancy. Edie graduated from Cresson High in 1957 and was a retired Maryland State Employee, where she was the secretary to the Lt. Governor and State Attorney General. She was an avid traveler; travelling through the United States, numerous countries in Europe, and going on cruises. A memorial service will be held for family and close friends, March 3 at 2 p.m., Cresson Presbyterian Church, 301 Keystone Ave., Rev. David McCabe, officiating. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cresson Presbyterian Church in memory of Edith Walters. Arrangements handled by Edward L.
