Secrest, Dorothy Marie (Snyder), 77, Mount Union, passed away Wednesday April 17, 2024, at home. Born July 4, 1946, Huntingdon, daughter of the late Dale M. Snyder and Laura M. (Hoffer) and Eugene D. Cutter Sr. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Leroy F Secrest Sr.; sons, Jody L., Randy A., and Joseph C. Secrest; sister, Connie J. Koch; brother, Melvin L. Cutter; and 2 nephews. Survived by children, Leroy F. Secrest Jr. and wife Simone, McVeytown; Terry F. Secrest, McVeytown; Brian K. Secrest Sr., McVeytown; Kevin W. Secrest and wife Laura, Newton Hamilton; and Laurie A. Secrest and significant other, Steve Crawley II, Mount Union; 16 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren; and many “adopted” grandchildren; sister Betty Barger and husband Gene, Milroy; brothers, Robert J. Snyder and wife Peggy, McVeytown; and Eugene Cutter and wife Elizabeth, McVeytown; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dorothy worked at Valley View Retirement Center in Belleville and Scotty’s Fashions in Lewistown. She will always be remembered by her warm hugs and smiles. Dorothy loved spending time with family and friends. Her favorite hobbies were watching hummingbirds, making crafts, yard saling, and meeting new people. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday April 24, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Thursday April 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Robert Boswell and Sam Peck, officiants. Interment to follow at Spring Run Cemetery, McVeytown.
