Smith, Dorothy “Dottie” H., 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois. Born November 13, 1950, West Hempfield Township, daughter of the late Edward G. and Dorothy C. (Henry) Grissinger Sr. Dorothy is also preceded in death by her loving lifelong partner, John R. Tennis, who she spent over 25 years with; her son, Derek Smith; daughter, Shannon Gornik; siblings, John, Ed, Ella, Mary, Jerry, and Bill; and her stepson, Timothy Tennis. Dorothy is survived by her son, Ronald Smith Jr.; siblings, Alma, Levi, George, Bertha, and Shirley; son-in-law, Christopher Gornik; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; stepson, Michael Tennis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy worked as a waitress for many years, where she enjoyed meeting many new people. In her spare time, she cherished spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
