Della M. Coder

Coder, Della M. (Corbin), 89, Mapleton, passed away June 3, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born July 9, 1932, Cromwell Township, daughter of the late Dewey Corbin and Hazel (Whitsel) Meloy. Preceded in death by her loving husband, I. Glen Coder; and siblings, Robert Corbin and Anna Mary Gardner. Survived by children, Glenda M. McCracken and husband, Andrew, Warren Ohio; David G. Coder and wife, Brenda, Mapleton; Amy E. Miles and husband, Randy, Mapleton; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Jake, Stephanie, Taylor and Kristin; and 9 great grandchildren, Sage, Wyatt, Parker, Jeffrey, Walter, Mackenzie, Meadow, Logan and Kash. Della was a 1950 graduate of Mount Union High School. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Mapleton where she also taught Sunday School for many years. Della retired as a cafeteria manager at Mapleton-Union Elementary after 27 years of service. Della belonged to the Mapleton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her animals, watching birds and other wildlife, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Family and friends will be received on Monday June 6, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday June 7, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Ed Seeley, officiant. Interment to follow at I.O.O.F. Mapleton Cemetery.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
