David W. McConnell

McConnell, David W., MSgt, US Air Force (Ret), 57, of Yulee, FL, formerly of Cresson, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 22, 2023 at his brother’s house in Loretto. Born May 13, 1966, Altoona, son of Earl B. and Mary E. “Betty” (Callahan) McConnell. Preceded in death by his father; sister, Diane Murray; and brothers, Kenneth and Joseph McConnell. Survived by his mother; loving wife, Kathy A. (Yurkevicius) McConnell; children, Kevin McConnell, Sarah McConnell, Grace Ybarra and Benjamin Muna; four grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Vincent and Freya; brothers, Dale (Margie) McConnell, John (Cindy) McConnell and Robert (Tonya) McConnell; brother-in-law, William Murray; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. David graduated from Penn Cambria High School. After graduation, David enlisted in the US Air Force. He faithfully served for 22 years, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the Air Force, he went on to obtain two masters degrees, the first in human resources and the second in business management, both from Webster University. David was currently employed for the Army Corp of Engineers as a human resource manager. He was a member of Yulee Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. David was member of Christian Motorcycle Assoc. (CMA) and was an avid motorcyclist. He enjoyed traveling, the heat in Florida, and his dog, George. Most importantly, he cherished his time with his family and friends. At his request, there will be no viewing. A celebration of his life will be held June 4, 2023 at Yulee Baptist Church, Yulee, Florida, Pastor Doug Sides officiant.
