Williams Sr., Charles E. “24Strong”, 64, Cresson, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his family. Born October 1, 1959, Altoona, son of Russell H. and Daisy B. (Weatherwalk) Williams, Sr. Preceded in death by his father; and brothers, Russell H. Williams, Jr. and Larry C. Williams, Sr. Survived by his mother; loving wife, Cheryl L. (Dunmyer); children, Justine Biter and husband, Jon; Charles E. Williams, Jr.; and Nicholas Williams; 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Hailey, Maddie and Kimberly; siblings, Rick Williams, Sr. and wife Kathy (Zatek); Donna Snyder and husband Joe; and Lisa Biller and husband Joe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Charles worked for Penn Cambria School District as a maintenance tech and retired from Calandra’s as a truck driver and yard worker. His favorite hobby was demolition derbies, which he enjoyed doing with his family. Building cars with his children, grandchildren and his many demo derby families. Charlie’s derby car number has always been 24 because he started driving derby cars at that age. When he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 60, this is where the 24Strong comes from. Charlie drove his last derby in 2022, doing it for 40 years.
