Heidel, Charles F. “Chip”, 82, Mount Union, passed away Wednesday January 18, 2023, at Embassy at Woodland Park, Orbisonia. Born April 26, 1940, son of the late Charles and Virginia (Miller) Heidel. Survived by brother, Jack Heidel and wife, Ruth; niece, Jacqueline Miller and husband, Jeff; nephew, Steven Heidel and wife, Contance; and Matthew Simpson; cousins, Dennis Leo Dinardi; Janet Shugarts and husband, Dayton; Joe Dinardi and wife, Sandi; Kay Gates; and Kim Sherman and husband, John; and great nephews, Ethan, Eliot, Clinton, Dillon, Chad and Adam. Preceded in death by sister, Susan Simpson, and nephew, Dennis M. Simpson. Chip was a 1958 graduate of Captain Jack High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Shippensburg University and then went on to graduate school at Michigan State University where he obtained his master’s degree in biology. Chip worked as an educator—teaching at Mount Union Area School District, Prince George County in Maryland, and the Tyrone School District. He would retire from teaching at the Warriors Mark Elementary School. He enjoyed going to auctions and sales, golfing and fishing.
