Cathryn Vargo

Vargo, Cathryn (Anderson), 70, Cresson, went to heaven on September 9, 2018. Born September 16, 1947, Altoona, daughter of the late Donald C. and Mary (Jehu) Anderson. Preceded in death by her brother, Thomas E. Anderson. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael, whom she married on January 3, 1970; three children, Jennifer Ann; Jill Marie (Craig) Cavalet, both of Cresson; David Michael (Kara) Vargo, Gibsonia; four grandchildren – the loves of her life: Madison, Avery, Pierce, and Gabriel; brother, Donald D. (Ina) Anderson; and three brothers-in-law, Paul, Jim (Dorothy), and Terry (Susan), all in Florida. Cathy was a 1965 graduate of Cresson Joint High School and Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown, Md. She also received an associate degree from Mount Aloysius College. She cared for her children when they were young and later worked as an administrative assistant for Mount Aloysius College and the Cambria County Industrial Development Corp. Cathy was very active in her church, but she most enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. Friends will be received Friday, September 14 from 4-7 p.m., Kennedy-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15 at 10 a.m., Cresson Presbyterian Church, 301 Keystone Ave., Cresson, Rev. Dave McCabe, officiating.
