Obituary

Brenda Sue Stevens Darley, 66, Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, following a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease. Born December 15, 1959, Altoona, daughter of the late William R. and Leona Mae “Nonie” (Illig) Stevens. Preceded in death by her infant brother, W. Michael Stevens. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Tucker and son-in-law, Adam; her cherished grandsons, Brayden and Grayson Tucker, who were the light of her life; her loving partner, Gregg Fowlkes; and her siblings, Martina Eckenrode, Linda Powers, Michele (Jim) Bossler, William “Bill” (Kim) Stevens, and Rebecca (Donny) Strunk. A dedicated professional in the medical field, Brenda “Sue” spent her career caring for others. As a medical assistant and office manager, she was known for her efficiency, her kindness, and her ability to make every patient feel seen and heard. Her heart for service extended beyond the office. She was a frequent volunteer and a helping hand to seniors in her community, always ensuring those around her were looked after. Brenda “Sue” found her greatest peace in her garden and her greatest adventures traveling alongside her partner, Gregg. She cherished the lifelong friendship and shared history she held with her siblings, who remained a constant source of love and support throughout her life. Of all her roles, being a mother and grandmother “Nony” brought her the most pride. Her family was her world, and she was at her happiest when the house was full of the laughter of her grandsons, Brayden and Grayson. Throughout her struggle with Alzheimer’s, she was cared for with tireless devotion by her daughter, Amanda. As her primary caregiver, Amanda alongside the dedicated support of her loving family and friends ensured that her mother’s life was filled with dignity, comfort, and the constant presence of love. “While Alzheimer’s may have dimmed her memory, it could never erase the impact she made of those around her. There is one thing Alzheimer’s cannot take away, and that is love. Love is not a memory - it’s a feeling that resides in your heart and soul.” She will be deeply missed, but her love remains planted in all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson. A short service honoring her life and legacy will conclude the visitation at 1:00 p.m., Fr. Leo Arnone, celebrant. Private inurnment will take place at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Cresson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson. Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
