Anna M. (McKinnis) Holesa

Holesa, Anna M., 100, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Penn Highlands Hospital, Huntingdon. Born January 25, 1921, Chester, daughter of the late Daniel and Esther (Romanko) Yakymac. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Steve J. Holesa whom she married on November 15, 1947, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Mount Union. Survived by children, Stanley Holesa and wife, Patti, Belleville; and Patty Fleck and husband, Rodney, Mount Union; and many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Rippert, Stella Loope, and Catherine Heidel; brother, Paul Yakymac. Mrs. Holesa was a member of St. Catherine’s of Sienna Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Mount Union High School Class of 1940. Mrs. Holesa retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in Huntingdon after 41 years of service. She loved her cat, Sammy. Mrs. Holesa enjoyed playing BINGO and doing word search puzzles. She was a fan of Notre Dame and loved cheering on their football and basketball teams. Mrs. Holesa loved cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. She was known for her famous nut rolls. Mrs. Holesa also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and visiting Lake Raystown. Friends and family will be received on Thursday June 17, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A funeral mass will follow at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Mount Union, Father Joseph Fleming, officiant. Interment at St. Catherine Cemetery, Shirleysburg.
