Adams, Francis “Stooge” E., 88, Cresson, passed away November 5, 2020 at UPMC Altoona. Born July 16, 1932, Cresson, son of the late Clifford and Ella (Sheehan) Adams. Preceded in death by his brothers, Robert “Boobie”, Elwood “Woody” and Randall Adams; and sister, Irene “Peckie” Myers. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo (Melley); daughter, Tammy Effinger and husband Jim, Cresson; grandsons, Dave Effinger and wife Lauren Bosley, Johnstown; Scott Effinger and girlfriend, Ella Meese; and great-grandson, Lucas Effinger. Stooge was a food salesman for Polens-Barnett Company. He was a member of the Cresson American Legion Post 238 and a life member of the Cresson Volunteer Fire Dept. Stooge was an avid walker and storyteller. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 4-8 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., where a Firefighter Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, 10 a.m., Fr. Brian Warchola celebrant. Committal St. Francis Xavier Church Cemetery, Cresson. Military honors provided by the Cresson American Legion and other local military posts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, 916 Hickory St, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
