Latoche, Robert J. “Bob”, 83, Cresson, passed away January 17, 2019 at his home. Born November 1, 1935, Gallitzin, son of the late Joseph A. Latoche and Anna (Drevjanko), who came to the United States from Austria-Hungary when she was 16 years old. Preceded in death by his brothers, Francis “Frankie” Latoche, who was KIA at the age of 19 at the Battle of Bulge; Joseph A. Jr.; brother-in-law, Andy Ragogna; and 7 week infant daughter, Lynne Ann. Survived by his loving wife, Della (Shrader), with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; sons, Robert R. (Annette McConnell); Michael P. (Vicki Donlan); daughter, Denise M.; grandchildren, Maxwell (Madelyn), Molly (Dom), Jillian, Nichole, Jessica (Chris), Mathew (Tammy); great-grandchildren, Brittney, Nolan, Landin and Sophie; sister, Betty Ragogna; nephews, Andrew Jr., Richard, Thomas and Joe-D; and sister-in-law, Joan Latoche. Bob graduated from the Greater Galltizin High School in 1953. He served as a medic and company clerk in the U.S. Army during the Korean Era (1954-1956). Bob retired from Retail Credit Company/Equifax Services after 34 years of service. He was a Life Member of the Cresson Volunteer Fire Company for 60 years, where he served 15 years as secretary and also received the President’s Award in recognition of outstanding service. Bob also received the Americanism Award from the Cresson American Legion, Post 238, for representing the highest ideals of Americanism. He was instrumental in bringing the PRR Caboose to Cresson and received the Cresson Area Volunteer Award for unselfish giving of his time and energy to the Cresson Area. He was also an avid bowler. The family would like to express heart-felt thanks to Conemaugh Regional Hospice; Nurse Stephanie Sherry; Home Health Aide, Susan “Woo Hoo” Hunsinger; Social Worker, Amy Levander; and Fr. Scott Lill for all of their care, compassion and support. Friends will be received Monday, January 21, from 4 – 8 p.m., Kennedy-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 22 at 11 a.m, by Fr. Scott Lill, Celebrant. Military honors provided by the Cresson American Legion, and other local military posts.
