Stoner, Evelyn “Mitzie” Louise, 89, Mapleton Depot, passed away December 29, 2019 at Aristacare at Woodland Park in Orbisonia. Born March 9, 1930, Huntingdon, daughter of the late Vaughn and Hulda (Gloss) Hooper. Preceded in death by her husband of nearly 53 years, Marvin E. Stoner and 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survived by daughters, Debby Miller and husband, Bill of West Decatur; Sharon Jenkins and husband, Jim of Somerset; 4 grandsons, Marvin Jenkins; Kurt Jenkins; John Miller; Mike Miller; 7 great-grandchildren, Zach Jenkins; Josie Miller; Logan Parkis; Zane Jenkins; Alex Jenkins; Caden Miller; Abbey Miller; 1 great-great-grandson, Liam Jenkins. Evelyn was a 1947 graduate of Mount Union High School. She worked at various jobs over her life, mainly sewing factories and department stores. Evelyn was a member of the Huntingdon Christian Missionary Alliance Church and most recently attended the Mapleton Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Evelyn and her husband enjoyed traveling in the younger years. Evelyn enjoyed attending the golden agers at the Beavertown Church. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to Christian music. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, Pastor Michelle Price, officiant. Burial at Mount Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mapleton Volunteer Fire Department. Evelyn’s family would like to thank the staff at Aristacare at Woodland Park for the care and compassion they showed her for the past 3 years.
