Richard "Rick" J. Berkheimer, Sr.

Berkheimer, Sr., Richard “Rick” J., 61, Gallitzin, passed away after a brief illness March 9, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born September 22, 1958, Altoona, son of the late Victor and Marie (Wilt) Berkheimer. Survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Catherine “Cathy” (Benzie) whom he married on July 6, 1985 at St. Mary’s Church, Gallitzin; sons, Jacob and Rick, Jr.; daughter, Jessica; son-in-law, Dave George; daughter-in-law, Shawnay (Eichensehr); three grandchildren, Rachel, Addasyn, Alaina and one soon to be born grandchild. Rick was employed as a welder at Corle Building Systems, Imler. He enjoyed family get togethers, as family was everything to him. Rick was the master chef on Thanksgiving, which was his favorite holiday. He enjoyed working on cars, fixing appliances, hunting, watching the Steelers and walking his dog, Diego, who was his best buddy who would always greet him at the door. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who is already dearly missed. At his request, there will be no viewing or services.
